Demon Castes

Physiology: Many people are highly disturbed when they first lay eyes on a Maiale. They stand roughly six feet tall and have faces that are almost humanoid, save for the lack of skin and presence of two long tusks jutting out from their bottom jaw. Their faces are skinless and their bipedal bodies covered in patches of matted brown fur.

Basic info: One of the lesser ranking castes of the true demon castes, Maiale’s appear to have basic intelligence and command skills. They are often seen dictating the movements of lesser demons and beasts, and a few even have very basic spell casting ability. They are sometimes seen using beasts as mounts and are brutally efficient with their tusks.

Weaknesses: Silver, water, being isolated from other Hellspawn.

Physiology: Aragna are mighty ten-legged demons that can grow to immense size; certain individuals have been known to be able to step over bungalows with ease. Their legs make up most of their size, and they resemble gigantic spiders with humanoid torsos. The relatively small torso has six arms and is usually seen holding a black bladed sword that drips with venom.

Basic info: Aragna are thankfully rarely seen on the Earth side of the gates. They seem to prefer to be alone and are very stealthy despite their massive size. They hunt from on high, dropping down on their victims from roofs, bridges or even the backs of larger beasts that have wandered through with them. They are very intelligent and capable of abstract thought, making them very efficient and fierce killers. Aragna appear to be highly territorial and will often fight one another to the death over a hunting ground. They can kill with their claws and fangs, but many use a Hellforged sword that is coated with Ragno venom.

Weaknesses: Water, each other, silver.

Physiology: Quite often the only thing that is seen of a Nadja is a huge shadow before everything stops. These huge demons resemble giant bats, with wings that spread up to twenty feet from tip to tip and four short legs curled against a relatively small black fur covered torso. Their heads resembles those of gargoyles and they have long pointed ears.

Basic info: Nadja's hunt using sound, loosing a very high-pitched shriek that causes many creatures to black out. To those who stay conscious the noise is intensely painful and disorientating, creating easy prey for the Nadja to snatch away and carry to its rooftop nest. Nadja's usually hunt alone but have on occasion been seen in small colonies. They are very intelligent and pick their prey with care, preferring to stay on high and out of sight until the creature they are targetting is incapacitated. They have been known to direct a group of Rais demons to swarm into a group of humans and distract them while the Nadja picked out its own meal. They are hunted by other demons who see them both as predators and as competition for hunting grounds.

Weaknesses: Enemies who can attack them from a distance, those who their sound attack doesn't affect, high winds, fire.
